What is hypnosis and what is hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a safe, secure and calming experience. It is a state of mind that your hypnotherapist will expertly guide you into in order for you to come to a deep level of mental relaxation. Once you have reached this deeply relaxed mental state, you will be given carefully constructed, positive suggestions that are custom-designed to steer you towards the life changes you are seeking. Most people associate the word hypnosis with “mind control” or acting out ridiculous antics on a stage in front of a live audience. While stage hypnotism can be very entertaining, it pales in comparison to the transformational effects of the therapeutic use of hypnosis. Hypnotherapy utilizes hypnosis as the main tool in order to guide a person towards optimum health, wellbeing and wholeness.

It should be noted that never at any point in time is your hypnotherapist in control over your mind, quite the opposite, hypnosis actually helps you regain the control in your life. Hypnosis can help you regain your life, to truly live –free from self-defeating habits, poor sleep, lack of motivation, debilitating pain, chronic stress, and more.

Is hypnosis safe?

The answer is yes. What most people do not realize is that they have already experienced hypnosis in their daily lives. For example, you are driving along on a familiar route, which allows your mind to focus on your daily to-do list. After a time, you see that you've missed your exit on the freeway! Your mind entered a state of hyper-focus, i.e. hypnosis. This is known as “highway hypnosis”. Additionally, whenever we watch television our minds enter a hypnotic trance –this is something advertisers capitalize on when designing their campaigns to entice you to buy their products.

Hypnosis has been used as a therapeutic tool for hundreds of years by the medical, scientific and psychological communities and cannot, in and of itself, cause harm to an individual.
